The Board of Directors helped advocate for and approve the New HMC Student Centre in Mississauga filled with new food services, club and athletics spaces for students to enjoy! This new building was created with student feedback every step of the way and has already become a staple in the #SheridanLife.
SSU donated $250,000 towards Student Scholarships, Bursaries and Awards and the Board approved 4 new ways to help students facing financial burden during the pandemic and has proudly continued to provide students with support.
If you are experiencing an unexpected food insecurity, thanks to the SSU Board of Directors, Sheridan students can access the Sheridan Student Union Food First Program and receive a digital gift card to help cover the cost of groceries.
In 2022, SSU introduced an expanded Health and Dental Coverage Plan to help support student needs. This included access to sexual health resources, new and repaired eyeglass coverage and even smoking cessation coverage.
SSU, Sheridan College and Sheridan Athletics worked with students to open three pop-up shops at selection Hudson’s Bay locations. This collaboration provided two Sheridan students with off campus work experience and all proceeds from this project will go to the Student Emergency Fund.
Are you passionate about saving the environment and creating more sustainability efforts at Sheridan? The SSU partnered with Sheridan College to install bee hives at our Trafalgar and Davis campuses, with the help of Sheridan Alumni, Ted Parks of Teddy Bee Honey.
