Program: Cybersecurity

“I’m a third-year cybersecurity student with a passion for leadership, innovation, and making an impact in my community. Throughout my time at Sheridan, I’ve actively contributed to various student-led initiatives, including serving as the Vice President of Operations for Enactus Sheridan, where I played a key role in expanding membership, streamlining operations, and leading our team to secure 2nd runner-up in both the Innovation and Impact Challenge and the TD Entrepreneurship Challenge at the Enactus Canada Regional Exposition.

Beyond Enactus, I have been a Peer Mentor, helping students transition into college life by fostering inclusivity, confidence, and a sense of belonging. I’ve also engaged with prospective students through campus tours and events, promoting Sheridan as a top educational choice.

Additionally, I was recently selected as a Board of Director for the Sheridan Student Union, where I aim to advocate for student needs and drive positive change on campus. Through these experiences, I’ve built a strong foundation in leadership, teamwork, and community engagement, and I’m excited to continue contributing to Sheridan’s vibrant student community!”

What are some of the student issues that you would like to bring to the Board table?

Environment & Sustainability
Financial Support: Scholarships, Bursaries and Awards

Write about one of the current student issues you selected above. share why advocating for this issue is important to you:

“Advocating for environmental sustainability is important to me because I believe that as students and future leaders, we have a responsibility to protect our planet and drive meaningful change. The impact of climate change, resource depletion, and environmental degradation is becoming more evident each day, and it is our collective duty to take action before these challenges become irreversible. Sustainability is not just about preserving natural resources—it’s about creating a healthier, more resilient future for our communities, ensuring that we leave behind a world that future generations can thrive in.

At Sheridan, I’ve actively engaged in sustainability efforts, including participating in the installation of native pollinator habitats in collaboration with the Office for Sustainability and Oakvillegreen. This experience reinforced my belief that even small, local actions can contribute to larger environmental goals. By fostering biodiversity and supporting pollinators, we enhance the natural ecosystem, which in turn strengthens food security and ecological balance. These initiatives demonstrate that sustainability is not only about large-scale policy changes but also about the everyday choices we make to protect our environment.

Beyond this, I recognize the critical role student advocacy plays in shaping institutional policies and promoting long-term sustainable initiatives on campus. Students have a unique opportunity to influence decision-making processes, push for eco-friendly infrastructure, and encourage the adoption of sustainable practices at the institutional level. Whether it's advocating for waste reduction programs, energy-efficient solutions, sustainable transportation options, or enhanced recycling efforts, I am committed to fostering a culture where sustainability is a shared priority among students, faculty, and staff.

Furthermore, sustainability extends beyond environmental concerns ait intersects with social and economic responsibility. By implementing sustainable solutions, we can create cost-effective, energy-efficient, and equitable policies that benefit all members of our community. This includes ensuring access to clean water, sustainable food options, and responsible resource management. Educating students about sustainability and equipping them with the knowledge and tools to make environmentally conscious decisions can drive lasting change far beyond our campus.”
