“As a dedicated and active member of the Sheridan community, I am always seeking opportunities to give back and positively impact those around me. I have participated in Mission Zero, where I contributed to sustainability efforts on campus by promoting waste reduction and environmental awareness. This experience allowed me to directly support initiatives that align with my values of environmental responsibility and community engagement.

Additionally, I volunteered as a New Student Orientation volunteer, where I helped incoming students navigate the transition to college life. I made it a priority to ensure that students felt welcomed and supported, as I believe creating a positive first impression is key to a successful academic journey. I worked alongside peers to provide information, answer questions, and create a sense of belonging for all new students.

Beyond these specific roles, I am always looking for ways to foster a sense of community and inclusivity at Sheridan. Whether through volunteering, supporting student-led initiatives, or engaging in campus events, I am committed to building a space where everyone feels valued. Sheridan has shaped my personal growth, and I want to contribute to making it a place where every student can thrive, feel empowered, and succeed in their academic and personal endeavours.”

What are some of the student issues that you would like to bring to the Board table?

✔ Cultural Representation and Inclusion
✔ Financial Support: Scholarships, Bursaries and Awards
✔ Sexual Health and Awareness on Campus

Write about one of the current student issues you selected above. share why advocating for this issue is important to you:

“Sheridan College is home to a diverse student body, yet diversity alone isn’t enough—true inclusion means making sure every student, regardless of their cultural background, feels heard, valued, and empowered. As someone who has experienced both the richness and the challenges of navigating a multicultural environment, I am passionate about ensuring that no student feels like an outsider. Cultural representation is more than just celebrating diversity—it’s about making meaningful changes that foster a sense of belonging, improve accessibility, and amplify student voices.

Many students, especially international and racialized students, struggle with cultural isolation, language barriers, and a lack of representation in leadership and student services. I want to change that. As a Board Member, I will advocate for stronger student representation in decision-making, expanded support networks for international students, and policies that acknowledge diverse cultural and religious needs. From ensuring that campus resources are available in multiple languages to advocating for inclusive meal options and flexible exam schedules for religious observances, my goal is to make Sheridan a place where every student, no matter their background, feels at home.

Beyond policy, I also believe in creating vibrant spaces for cultural expression and cross-cultural learning. Whether it’s through multicultural events, heritage celebrations, or student-led diversity panels, I will work to ensure that every student has the chance to share their identity and feel seen. Discrimination, exclusion, or ignorance have no place in a thriving student community, and I am committed to strengthening our reporting systems and fostering a campus culture where inclusivity is not just a buzzword, but a lived reality.

Cultural representation is not just about recognizing differences—it’s about celebrating them, learning from them, and ensuring they are reflected in student leadership, services, and policies. If elected, I will dedicate myself to breaking barriers, amplifying voices, and making Sheridan a more inclusive, welcoming space for all. Together, we can build a campus where diversity is not just acknowledged but embraced in every aspect of student life.”
